| Menopausal hair loss |
| Hair loss is a concern shared by many women of menopausal age. It affects 40% of women by age 50. The female sex hormone, estrogen, promotes the growth of hair on the scalp while limiting hair growth elsewhere on the body. Estrogen is also blocking the effects of testosterone and its derivative, DHT. As the level of estrogen drops by menopause, so also drops the positive effects of the hormone, with the result that some women experience hair thinning and hair loss following menopause. It is our recommendation that Bioscal® or Bioscalin® is used to remove obstacles to natural, healthy hair growth, to prepare and stimulate the scalp for new hair growth and to optimize the growth conditions for the new hair. |
