| Sudden hair loss |
| Hair loss caused by sudden or severe stress is in medical terms called Telogen Effluvium, which causes a significant increase in the shedding of the hair. Telogen effluvium is characterized by a stressful event causing the hair follicles to prematurely stop growing and enter into a resting phase. The hair will then stay in the resting phase for about 3 months after which it will be shed. Often the person involved will have recovered from the event before the hair loss occurs and may therefore not associate the hair loss with the past stressful event. Telogen effluvium appears to affect more women than men and is in most cases temporary. It is our recommendation that Bioscal® or Bioscalin® is used to remove obstacles to natural, healthy hair growth, to prepare and stimulate the scalp for new hair growth and to optimize the growth conditions for the new hair. However, underlying medical disorders should be treated by medical practitioners. |
